Stay tuned…

Do not misinterpret my silence for inactivity.  As you can see from the updated Shows Page, I am quite inundated with wonderful musical situations.  I will shine a spotlight on all of these amazing shows as they approach!

In the meantime, check out this video of Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi (the drummer and singer in my solo project).  This is Genevieve’s song, “Like A Storm” and sometimes we cover it in the RMG.  Though this particular rendition is quite unlike any version I’ve heard before.  You can subscribe to their youtube channel HERE.

Upcoming Releases, Lightning in a Bottle

I’d like to focus on two musical groups that both share some exciting news. The Makers and Fishtank Ensemble have led relatively independent lives, and probably would have never heard of each other if it weren’t for myself constantly preaching to one how great the other is.

And perhaps it is purely coincidental, that these two groups are both releasing a record this month and will be featured at the same music festival this Memorial Day Weekend. I’m speaking, of course, of Southern California’s Lightning in a Bottle.  Bring a tent, see you there!

.
The Makers will be offering advance hard copies of our debut record Good Girl Hank for this festival.  Naturally, we plan to have an official release party very soon.  Much more on this release in the posts to come, as I want to share some personal reflections on the music.  We will be playing on May 30th at noon on the main stage at LIB and will also be jamming out in an epic after-hours set at an art gallery TBA.
Fishtank Ensemble has just released their second studio album, “Woman In Sin.” It is easily some of the finest Eastern European music being produced in the states. They’re also including some gypsy jazz and original songs, with your truly sitting in on clarinet on “After You’ve Gone.”  Fishtank hits the stage on May 30th around 4:30pm.
